How to Turn Off Location Services on an iPhone 6: You might have wondered the exact location of your iPhone’s Location Services, you may have noticed a little arrow icon at the top of your iPhone display, that is actually a location service indicator which means an app on your iPhone is currently or was recently using the Location Services feature on your device. The feature is used to access the present location in term of latitude and longitude of the phone. The feature has high affinity for power so its constant usage drains lots of battery power or you may be the type that loves his/her privacy and you don’t want the some apps to access your location, shutting it down is the best way to stop all these from happening.


It is important to know that some apps work much better when the Location Services is turned on, especially those apps that is used to find things near your location. Turning off your location service will drastically reduced the efficiency of such app to function properly.

So if you’ve decided to turn off your iPhone location service, below is the guide that will show you how to find this menu and turn off Location Services on your device. Note that the steps in this article were written using an iPhone 6 Plus, in iOS 9, these steps will work for other iPhone models using iOS 9, as well as iPhone models using iOS 10.

Step 1: Tap the Settings icon.

Step 2: Scroll down and select Privacy option.

Step 3: Tap the Location Services button

Step 4: then just to the right of Location Services, tap the button .

Step 5: Tap the red Turn Off button to shut down Location Services for your apps.

As mentioned in the pop-up window in the final step, your Location Services settings can be temporarily restored if you use Find My iPhone to locate your device.

DO NOT TAP ON "TURN ON LOCATION SERVICES".  Doing so will turn on your location and your efforts would have been a waste.
