Where will I find photos or videos that people have sent me directly?
When a friend sends you a direct photo or video, you can now view and reply from your Messenger inbox instead of Facebook Direct. For the best experience, make sure that you have the most recent version of the Facebook and Messenger apps installed on your mobile phone.
How long will direct photos and videos be visible in my Messenger inbox?
All photos and videos shared directly will remain visible in your Messenger conversation, and will not disappear.
What if I still have Facebook Direct on my mobile phone?
If you haven't updated to the latest version of the Facebook app and still have Facebook Direct on your mobile phone, any messages you send from Direct will be sent to that person's Messenger inbox. These messages will now remain visible in the Messenger conversation, and will not disappear.
Why am I seeing message notifications on Facebook?
If you don't have the Messenger app installed on your mobile phone, when someone sends you a photo or video directly, we'll notify you on Facebook. Download the Messenger app to view any messages that you may have received.
To view and reply to a direct photo or video, log into the Messenger app for iOS or Android.
